It’s hard for me to define my creative process and to frame the inspiration behind it. There is really nothing in particular I could point at. Honestly, the source for my inspiration could be anything: Colors, random scenes on the street, face expressions from strangers or loved ones, sounds and songs, structures, food, scents, people’s stories and my own mood of course. The only thing I could say for sure is that I am a true workaholic. Once I have an idea everything has to happen immediately. I hate to wait and risk the ideas in my head to fade away.
Pictures such as photographs influence the way we perceive things even before we can actually visually encounter them. We walk around with certain images in our head. I personally tend to think and remember in images, in stills and captions, often also in past photos I saw.
But I know that photos are just a tiny glimpse of what the eye captures. Photography simulates a standstill that was never real to begin with. It’s a designed, artificially captured moment of a scene, often carefully curated to reflect a reality quite often distinct to the reality that was set in motion. As such, it gives you the chance to comment and interpret the world around you and mould according to your desires."
